A Month Already?

I can't believe we have completed the first month of the school year. We began the day with our Monthly Assembly. One student from each class receive a Character Award. This award went to students that displayed outstanding character for the month of September. One student from each class also received a College Bound Award. This award went to students who "accepted no limits to their academic success" the first month of school. Several students were also recognized for their achievement in accumulating points for Accelerated Reader. Students who have accumulated more than 25 points are considered on the "Dean's List", students who have 50 points have earned a "Bachelor's Degree", students who have 75 points have earned a "Master's Degree", and students who have 100 points have earned their "Doctorate Degree".

I am very proud of the accomplishments of our students this first month of school. I can truly say that most are accepting no limits to their academic success, and we are taking no excuses for poor effort.

Grade level teams have been collaborating to plan for rigorous instruction, create common assessments, analyze the results, and facilitate intervention groups for students who need additional practice.
